Jump Right In

After a long drive split with one half last night and one half this morning, we finally made it to Uncle Pat and Aunt Linda's lake house just in time for lunch, where the girls were so excited to find a little table and chairs just right for them.


Afterwards, while everyone was else was busy doing I-don't-even-remember, Mom-Mom and I took the girls down to the lake (after a detour on the swing). With rain forecasted for the weekend, I was not about to have a repeat of last year when I missed my chance at swimming in the lake on the first and only nice day of our trip!



When we got down to the lake, Emily couldn't resist jumping right into the water. Kate wasn't too keen on the chilly water and was happier taking it all in from the side, or at least on the steps where she could stand.





Emily, meanwhile, had a blast "jumping in" -- from the bottom step -- with Mom-Mom and swimming "all by myself!"




We're hoping the rain holds out so we can have a lot more time on the lake this weekend!
