Well, for as little snow as we've had this winter, it still doesn't look like winter wants to end anytime soon. This morning we had a neighborhood egg hunt, but instead of Easter bonnets, there were winter hats and gloves. Brrrr!
Despite the cold, it was a fun morning. The breakfast treats all the neighbors contributed certainly added to the girls' fun. I am so glad a neighbor decided to bring back this old neighborhood tradition. Maybe I'll volunteer to host next year!

Snowball Fight
The bit of snow stuck around today, but instead of sledding we invited Caitie over for a snowy playdate which turned into the girls' first snowball fight.
As little snow as it was, it was just right for making snowballs ... and a jolly snowman too.
And check out these icicles! It may not be a very snowy winter but it's still winter after all.

A Little Bit More
We got a little bit more snow, barely enough to cover the grass again but just enough for sledding which is all that really matters, right?
I guess a little bit of snow is better than nothing, but I wonder if we'll ever get anything like we had two years ago?

Snowy Backyard
It (barely) snowed again, and this time we stuck to the backyard. The single slope we have is a narrow strip between the shed and the retaining wall in the backyard, but it's just enough for a couple of little girls to make a few runs before switching to snow angels.
(Please ignore the looks on their faces; I swear they actually asked me to take a picture together. Apparently they just don't appreciate the work that goes into squeezing three faces into a single self-portrait!)

Sledding Fun
It only took until the end of December, but we finally got some snow. It may have barely covered the grass, but it counts! It was certainly good enough for snow angels and the girls' first chance at sledding.
We only have one teeny tiny little slope in our backyard, so for real sledding we took the girls to the park nearby. It's perfect because we can do a short hill, a long hill, or even a double hill, to make it even more fun.
They rode with Daddy for the first couple trips down the hill but soon enough were asking to go on their own, and boy, did they love it!
It made for a fun but exhausting afternoon, so we headed back to the house for hot chocolate and a nap. We can't wait to do it again!
