Flower Power

I love dressing these girls, and love dressing them alike even more. I've already admitted it's a problem. But is there anything cuter than sisters in coordinating floral skinny jeans? I don't think so.

A Snowy Egg Hunt

Well, for as little snow as we've had this winter, it still doesn't look like winter wants to end anytime soon. This morning we had a neighborhood egg hunt, but instead of Easter bonnets, there were winter hats and gloves. Brrrr!

Despite the cold, it was a fun morning. The breakfast treats all the neighbors contributed certainly added to the girls' fun. I am so glad a neighbor decided to bring back this old neighborhood tradition. Maybe I'll volunteer to host next year!

Baby Names

Last night, when I picked the girls up from Mimi's house, Emily informed me that she came up with a great name for the baby.

Emily [excitedly]: Mommy, Mommy, I thought of a name for the baby! Julietta!
Me: Oh, really? Well, how did you come up with that?
Emily: Well, I was thinking of Julia, and then it just came to me. Julietta!

I don't know how we're going to get out of this one, unless we have a boy. Except that neither of the girls seems to want a boy, as we learned at dinner tonight.

Me: What should we name the baby if we have a boy?
Kate: No! No boys! We already have one Daddy!

I am trying to stay strong on our decision not to find out what we're having, but these girls are making it tough!

Sisters' School Portraits

I don't know if we'll get this chance again when they're in elementary school, but I love that we were able to get a portrait of the girls together since this will be their only year in preschool together. Kate was scared and crying since it was her first time, but having Emily there (and me to hold her hand, as you can see) definitely helped, and once she got comfortable, she brought the big smiles!

We also snagged this shot of Kate at the school auction this past weekend. I am not at all surprised that she didn't smile but I can never pass up a picture of my girls!

The auction organizers tried something new for the pre-k portraits this year, and I love how it turned out! My favorite response, though, was from Emily's friend Ashley in another class. She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up. I have to say I'm pretty proud of Emily's response!

Sloanie's First Birthday

Her big day is here! It's crazy how much they change in a year, but it's so fun to watch them grow ... and even more fun to watch them smash frosting in their hair.

Sloane is getting so big, in fact, that she's almost walking! Emily was more than happy to help her little cousin practice.

After walking off all that cake, it was time for presents!

I think the birthday girl had lots of fun, and I think we all had fun seeing the four granddaughters down the shore together for the first time.

So happy birthday, Sloanie! We love you so much and can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you!

A Big Present

I can't believe it, but tomorrow is Sloane's first birthday! We are headed down the shore tonight to celebrate with her and the rest of my family tomorrow, so today the girls helped me decorate her present since it was a little too big for regular wrapping paper.

They had lots of fun making it extra special for their cousin. We can't wait to see her open it tomorrow ... and even better, play with it this summer!
