Sunny Skies

What a beautiful day today! We were so glad to be able to get a good day in at the beach after having to go without it for so long because of the move, but I definitely think Emily was the most excited out of all of us. She really is a beach baby!

After all that play, Daddy took Emmy into the ocean to rinse off all the sand. It was her first time out deep, and she loved it! Daddy may have been worried, but she laughed every time a wave came up behind them. Soon enough she'll be out there on her own!

Sunset Cruise

We're in good hands with Captain Emily in charge!

Of course, we all know toddlers cannot sit still for long, so it's a good thing Pop-Pop was there to man the ship once Emily was ready to start exploring.

Time to head home. Captain Emily is back on the job!

What Hurricane?

This morning started out rainy, but by the afternoon, it was nice enough to take a quick trip to the pool. Of course, at first, Emily had more interest in throwing all the toys into the pool than getting into it herself. After that, she had fun getting splashed with the watering can with Daddy but still didn't go past the first step!

That all changed once I got in the pool, and she couldn't resist any longer. Why she insisted that I wear the inner tube in shallow water, I don't know, and she's a little too young for floaties, but obviously she was having fun!

New Stomping Grounds

It's so nice having playgrounds within walking distance from our house. I think Emmy likes it too!

Moving Day

Tomorrow is moving day, and after a long day of clearing out the house, we knew we needed to commemorate our last moments in the place we called home for the past five years, the place we lived when we got married, the place we lived when Emily was born.

We had so many great memories here, but now it's time to move on to our new home and say goodbye!

I don't think Emily was anywhere near as sad as Daddy and I were. Actually, she was happy as a clam with all of her favorite stuffed animals piled next to her in the car...

...but apparently she would rather have them piled on top of her, which is how I found her, fast asleep, once we arrived at Mom-Mom and Poppy's!

It wasn't long before Mommy and Daddy crashed too. It's been a long couple of weeks, and we're only in for more after we move into the new house tomorrow!

A Big Announcement

That's right: Emily is going to be a big sister sometime around March 27th! What a happy surprise!

Racing on the Beach

What could be better than something that combines our two loves: the beach and racing? Surprisingly, though, this is the first year either of us has entered the Sea Isle 10 Mile Island Run -- and judging by how Daddy felt afterwards, it may be the last!

It's an early evening race, and the afternoon started out nice, with a quick walk to the beach as we waited for the rest of the group to get ready to leave.

Soon enough, it was time for the race to start. Off they go!

Meanwhile, Emmy and I grabbed a grilled cheese on the boardwalk and were ready to cheer for Daddy as he passed by again.

There he goes!

Emmy was so excited to see Daddy finish, and by the time we made our way down to the beach, we didn't have to wait long!

She's such a beach baby that she could barely stand being stuck in her stroller, so once Daddy finished, it was time to splash in the ocean!

Sometimes it's fun just being a spectator!

Before the Big Move

Today we met up with Megan and Brendan at the park near their old house for one last playdate before we all moved. Who needs the playground when there are giant sticks to be found?

Look how big they both look! Where did our babies go? Later, on the slide, Brendan was all ready to catch Emily, but she was too fast!

After all that playing, they shared a snack. Brendan is such a good sharer!

It was a nice little break, but soon it was time to go home and get back to packing!

Wedding Day!

Congratulations to Aunt Erin and Uncle John on their wedding! What a beautiful and perfect day!

The weekend started out with a wonderful rehearsal dinner, where the bride and groom got a special gift. It's important to keep your sense of humor in a marriage, after all!

A few hours later, it was finally wedding day! Aunt Erin made a stunning bride!

And her girls didn't look so bad either, right?

Again, what a beautiful bride, a gorgeous and happy couple...

...and an adorable flower girl!

Nothing like your favorite song to calm you down!

After all those pictures, it was finally time to head to the reception. Thanks again to Mom-Mom and Poppy for all their help. We couldn't have made it through the day without you!

Thankfully, Emily took a nice nap in her favorite spot during dinner, and after that, she was ready to hit the dance floor!

Her favorite dance partner of the night was definitely Aunt Erin. At one point -- the boys must have been taking a break -- the two of them ruled the dance floor:

I don't know who had the better moves, Emily or Aunt Erin!

All that dancing left Emily exhausted and ready for bed, so she spent the end of the night getting passed from shoulder to shoulder.

After a long day, we finally made it back to the hotel, and after tucking Daddy and Emily into bed, I snuck downstairs to say goodnight to the bride.

Happily ever after! Love you both!
