I love dressing these girls, and love dressing them alike even more. I've already admitted it's a problem. But is there anything cuter than sisters in coordinating floral skinny jeans? I don't think so.

Sisters' School Portraits
I don't know if we'll get this chance again when they're in elementary school, but I love that we were able to get a portrait of the girls together since this will be their only year in preschool together. Kate was scared and crying since it was her first time, but having Emily there (and me to hold her hand, as you can see) definitely helped, and once she got comfortable, she brought the big smiles!
We also snagged this shot of Kate at the school auction this past weekend. I am not at all surprised that she didn't smile but I can never pass up a picture of my girls!
The auction organizers tried something new for the pre-k portraits this year, and I love how it turned out! My favorite response, though, was from Emily's friend Ashley in another class. She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up. I have to say I'm pretty proud of Emily's response!

A Big Present
I can't believe it, but tomorrow is Sloane's first birthday! We are headed down the shore tonight to celebrate with her and the rest of my family tomorrow, so today the girls helped me decorate her present since it was a little too big for regular wrapping paper.
They had lots of fun making it extra special for their cousin. We can't wait to see her open it tomorrow ... and even better, play with it this summer!

Valentine's Surprises
Happy Valentine's Day! The girls are all dressed up in their Valentine best to celebrate at school today.
Yesterday we made Valentines for Daddy and the grandparents. Emily's thumbs made the red hearts; Kate's are the pink hearts.
This morning I surprised the girls with heart pancakes. Considering they usually eat toasted waffles on the way to school, sitting down for pancakes was a feat!
At school they both had parties and each came home with a bag full of Valentines and sweets, in addition to the bag full of sweets they each got from Mommy and Daddy.
Mommy got a pretty sweet surprise too:
We hope your day was just as sweet!

Sledding Fun
It only took until the end of December, but we finally got some snow. It may have barely covered the grass, but it counts! It was certainly good enough for snow angels and the girls' first chance at sledding.
We only have one teeny tiny little slope in our backyard, so for real sledding we took the girls to the park nearby. It's perfect because we can do a short hill, a long hill, or even a double hill, to make it even more fun.
They rode with Daddy for the first couple trips down the hill but soon enough were asking to go on their own, and boy, did they love it!
It made for a fun but exhausting afternoon, so we headed back to the house for hot chocolate and a nap. We can't wait to do it again!

Rollerskates!
The girls were so excited to try out their new rollerskates from Mom-Mom and Poppy, and since it was warm(ish) today, I figured we might as well!
Hmm. Let's just say they're going to need a lot of practice. After a lap or two up the driveway, Kate gave up and switched to her scooter while Emily decided to try Kate's beginner skates instead.
Clearly that worked much better for everyone. Now we just need spring to hurry up and get here so we can get outside for some more practice!

Christmas Coordination
Speaking of coordinating outfits...
I picked Emily's dress to match one of her hand-me-down dresses for Kate, but I failed to take into account how much taller Kate is than Emily was at this age. I think the fact that Em's dress is so long makes Kate's look even shorter. Whoops! This girl is going to catch up to her big sister in no time.
Once we got to the party, I was happy to see that Sloane and Ella coordinated nicely too. Unfortunately coordination doesn't always lead to cooperation when it comes to little ones. I forget why Emily was even crying, because I know she was so excited to see her cousins!
Speaking of cousins, look how big this family has gotten!
And back to coordinating outfits, sometimes it happens even when your mom isn't even picking out your clothes anymore. This isn't even the first time it's happened with me and my sisters, and I'm sure it won't be the last!
