Just in time for Emily's birthday, Kate figured out a new word: Emmy. Hearing her call for her big sister is the sweetest thing. Now she can rattle off a list of some of her favorite people, aunts and uncles and best friends notwithstanding.
I never realized that I was depriving my daughters of bathtime fun until tonight when we opened the bath toys that Mom-Mom and Poppy gave them for Christmas. I think both of them would have stayed in there all night if we let them!
Daddy got home early from a business trip today, so we spent the sunny afternoon outside playing with sidewalk chalk and bubbles.
Well, Emily played, while Daddy just enjoyed spending a little extra time with his girls.
Playing outside gets messy, though, so both girls needed a bath at the end of the day. First up was Kate, getting her first real bath. Surprisingly, she didn't cry at all!
There were no tears from Emily either when it was her turn because she just loves splashing around in the bath. The only time she cries is when we make her get out before she's ready!
Tonight we gave Kate her first sponge bath, and just like Emily, she didn't like it one bit. If she's anything like her big sister, though, she'll be loving bathtime soon enough!
Pop-Pop and Aunt Lauren had come over for dinner tonight, so after bathtime, Pop-Pop got to spend some time with both of his girls.
