Meet Baby Trey!

Tonight we finally got to meet Fran and Jolene's new baby boy, Trey.
I had seen plenty of pictures but was still surprised to see how tiny he was in person! You really do forget how little they are. He's a real cutie, and looks just like his mommy!

I'm thinking this one should be in Connections!

Later, Emily tried to get a dance party going, but I think everyone knew they couldn't compete with her moves:

Time to say goodbye came too soon!

Sweetest Wishes for the Soon-to-be-Mrs!

A beautiful day for a beautiful bride-to-be! Aunt Erin had a lot of gifts to open, and she was nice enough to let Emily help ... not that Emmy gave her much of a choice!

Emmy soon realized the presents weren't for her and decided she'd have more fun playing on the boxes!

After the gifts, it was time for group pictures. First, the bridesmaids. Notice there's am empty space next to me where DeAnn should be. We missed you!

Next up, some family shots.

"Mommy, can I have a balloon, please?"

"I. WANT. A. BALLOON. NOW!"

She moved on to playing with the ice and loved it. I think part of the reason she liked it so much is because it's one thing that she fed Daddy that he actually ate!

What a long day. Apparently Emmy needed a break!

Happy shower, Erin!

April Showers

...bring gorgeous rainbows!

This rainbow followed us home this afternoon, and I just had to share!

Woodland Garden Songs

This morning we spent some time with Mom-Mom and Poppy, and Emmy and Mom-Mom snuck off to the swing, where I caught them singing together -- well, as much as a toddler with barely any words can sing!

Clearly she knows she's got talent. She must get it from her Daddy because she surely didn't get it from me!

A Slide for Two

Emily and Brendan are quickly becoming great friends, but Emmy definitely likes to take the lead when it comes to playing on the slide!

Our Top Chef

She created that little edible masterpiece all by herself. For real!

Happy Easter!

After Mass, we went back to Mimi and Grandpop's for a quick brunch before the rest of my family had to leave. She got another Easter basket from Mommy and Daddy, and then we all went outside to soak up the sun, no matter how chilly it was!

The fun outside continued at Mom-Mom and Poppy's, where Emily got to play with her favorite furry aunt, Sophie, and with her favorite Great-Mom-Mom on the piano.

Then she played a bit with her adorable new throne of a potty, a gift from Mom-Mom and Poppy, complete with a toilet paper roll and a book rack. If this doesn't make potty training enjoyable, I don't know what will!

Eventually we all settled down for dinner, and Emily chowed down on her corn-on-the-cob. We ended our second Easter dinner with another birthday cake, this time for Great-Mom-Mom and Aunt Kelly. Happy Birthday to all the April birthday girls!

Three Celebrations

Let me ask it again: Is there anything sweeter than a sleepy baby?

After her nap, we went over to Mimi and Grandpop's to celebrate Easter. Emmy loved her Easter basket from Mimi, especially the bunny ears and Teddy Grahams! She also had a blast playing outside with her aunts.

We already knew she loved spinning, and now she loves playing ring-around-the-rosie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLfLk_162H0

In other big news, Emily had her first two-syllable word tonight! She's been very stubborn about talking even though she understands just about everything, but recently she's started saying "up" and "da" for Dad, dog, and down. As Aunt Erin was slicing an apple, Emily looked at it and said "ap-pow." Of course we all burst into cheers and applause!

We continued the good news later on as we had a toast to celebrate Rich and DeAnn's engagement and cake to celebrate Erin's birthday.

What happened to that sleepy baby of ours?
