Getting So Big

Our big girl is starting preschool next week, and today we visited the school to meet her new teachers. While I chatted with Miss Cammy, Emmy explored the classroom (read: scoped out all the toys) with Miss Mary. Afterwards, we checked out the school playground where we also met one of her new classmates, Ashley.


As usual, she didn't want to leave the playground, but when I told her we had to go to the "cake store" to order a cake for Kate's christening, she got all excited. I treated her to a baby cupcake because, even though she's such a big girl, it's still the perfect size for her.



Then we had to go to Trader Joe's, where she got another treat: her own shopping cart! She loves being my little helper, although admittedly it's not much help when, on top of trying to steer my cart, find my groceries, and carry Kate, I also have to keep Emily from blocking the aisle or crashing into the shelves. But, hey, at least she looks cute doing it!



It's hard to believe she's big enough to do so many things on her own. It seems like just yesterday...
