Double Booked

Today Emily had not one but two third birthday parties, and both were at superfun play gyms. The first party was for her neighborhood friend Caitie, although it wasn't until the kids were called for pizza and cookies that Emily actually got to see her. While Caitie was a little more adventurous, climbing all around the three-level play structure, Emmy was happy just playing in the ball pit.



She was having so much fun that she wanted to share a little piece of it with Kate, as you can watch here. Later, another neighborhood friend, Pearson, joined up with Emmy in the ball pit where they played a little game of basketball together.



Gradually, Emmy warmed up to the place and started to explore a bit more, but she wanted me to stay right with her. Ordinarily, it would have been easy, except today I was carrying Kate in the Bjorn, which isn't exactly made for crawling through tunnels. Not that Kate was complaining!





After all that fun playing, the kids sat down for some pizza and cookies, and then it was time to go...off to our second party, this time for cousin Madelyn. Just like at Caitie's party, we didn't see much of the birthday girl, but Emily had lots of fun playing with cousin Aidan.









Soon enough it was time for more pizza and cake, and Maddie's cake was a hit with our little Backyardigans fan! Afterwards, we got to play a little more with Grandmom and the cousins before it was time to take our party girls home.






I think we're all going to sleep well tonight!
