A Marathon Across Five Boroughs

It's marathon day! Yesterday we hit up the race expo and found some inspiration along with a giant course map.



It was an early morning for Daddy, Aunt Erin, and Uncle John, but the rest of us got to take some extra time. Unfortunately we took a little too much time and missed Daddy in Brooklyn -- he was just running way too fast! -- but we were able to see Aunt Erin and Uncle John, still all smiles as they made their way through Brooklyn after starting in Staten Island.






We saw the mass of runners head into Queens, then we headed to Central Park to wait for our runners as they made their way through Manhattan, into the Bronx, and then back to Central Park for the finish.



After waiting a little while, we realized we again missed superfast Daddy, so Emmy, Uncle Rich, and I decided to find him at the finish line. We took a quick detour to the turtle pond where there weren't any turtles to be seen, but Emmy was perfectly happy seeing the ducks and pigeons.





Finally, we made it to the finish line along with millions of other runners and spectators, but we were still able to find our tired, cold runners and make them force smiles for a finishers' photo.
