Last Race of the Season

Another early race morning! It may be warm and sunny during the day here, but the mornings and evenings are just as cold as they are at home. At least Emmy and I could stay bundled up, but Daddy had to get into his gear and showed off his tribute to cousin Joey.

We got a great view of the swim start and sunrise from the bridge, and soon enough the gunshot blasted and the racers started their very long day.

After we grabbed a quick breakfast, Emmy and I went to the swim finish to keep our eye out for Daddy. As usual, we didn't have to wait too long!

Then we headed out to the bike course where Emmy was ready to cheer with her cowbell. We were able to see Daddy come in from his first loop and stayed until he left for his third and final loop. He's looking good!

We caught him heading into transition at the end of his bike and rushed over to see him start his run. Emmy had fun watching her shadow as we waited, and soon enough he ran by with a smile on his face.

Afterwards, we headed over to a grassy hill where we waited to see Daddy coming in from his first loop. As we waited, Emmy had fun saying "cheese" over and over again and and doing her best at striking a pose.

Here comes Daddy, heading straight for a kiss for Emily!

As we waited for him on his second loop, Emmy had fun running around the field, playing ring around the rosie and racing down the hill with all the other spectating kids.

Eventually we spotted him again as he was finishing his second loop, and then again after he met up with Sean to finish their third and final loop and cross the finish line together.

After a long day, Daddy was relieved, Emmy and I were proud, and all three of us were exhausted! Congrats to our four-time Ironman!
